This project was a continuation of the On Behalf Of exhibition materials. It was centred on creating design solutions to help non-English speaking patients communicate with their doctors and allowing them to have their own voices again instead of relying on family members to speak 'on behalf of' them. Design Outcomes include; Visual Diagnosis Cards, Visual Diagnosis posters, App design, Diagram, microsite and Animations.
The icons went through many developments and stages, first from sketches and brainstorms on an a5 sketchbook, it was then scanned and transported into Adobe Photoshop where I turned each element of the modular set into moveable pieces where I could then manipulate them into forming the icons presented here.

Sketches of the modular icon idea.

Original icon set; originally created with a calligraphy pen on paper - then scanned and digitally rendered. Updated due to inconsistencies with the line weight of the parts used for the modular system.

Current modular icon glyphs - more consistent weight compared to original version.

The set of cards (35) went through changes in sizing, colours and layout as well as categorised in colours; Blue being head related issues/injuries. Red being anything to do with the torso/upper-body and Green being the lower half of the body.

The card development cycle showcasing the design evolutions it took to become its final form.

The 35 cards are presented here; detailing the modular system in its current entirety. The cards used WebMD as a reference for symptoms to be visually interpreted.

The visual diagnosis cards packaging along with the back design of the diagnosis cards.

Mockup of the 3 categorised cards.

This was one of the original poster/billboard designs I had created prior to the final design.

The supporting outcomes - the 3 diagnosis posters showing a different diagnosis each, a visual narrative sequence detailing how the system of 'On Behalf Of' works, and a website and app mockup.
